BYD adds long-range variants to Han sedan lineup to boost appeal
BYD has added long-range variants to the Han to enhance the appeal of its Dynasty series flagship sedan.
Both the hybrid Han DM-i and the pure-electric Han EV now offer new variants with extended range, priced lower after limited-time offers.
The company rolled out four new Han DM-i variants, each with a CLTC battery range of 245 kilometers.

The five previously available Han DM-i variants all had a CLTC battery range of 125 km.
The Han EV now has three new variants, including two with a CLTC range of 635 km and one with a range of 705 km.
The previously available Han EV also had five variants: two with CLTC ranges of 506 km and 605 km, and three with 701 km ranges.
For customers purchasing these new variants before October 31.
This move positions the newly launched Han DM-i and Han EV variants as higher-spec models at lower effective prices, effectively phasing out the previously available variants despite their continued presence in the specification list.

BYD launched the 2025 model year Han sedan on September 9, 2024, featuring lower prices and upgraded specifications. The model received an smart driving edition update in February this year.
The Han is BYD's flagship sedan and one of the earliest mid-to-high-end models from a Chinese domestic automaker.
Following strong performance last year, the model has seen a significant sales decline this year amid intensifying competition.
The BYD Han family, which also includes the Han L EV and Han L DM, sold 8,690 units in September, down 64.57 percent year-on-year and 6.95 percent month-on-month, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
From January to September, the Han family sold 142,331 units, a 13.09 percent year-on-year decrease.
